Florida Hospital Transplant House at Florida Hospital
The Bartch Transplant House at Florida Hospital Orlando will be a “home away from home” for patients who are in the Central Florida area for solid organ transplants as well as recovery from a Ventricular Assist Device implant. A “transplant house” is not considered a medical facility; our House will provide high quality, affordable accommodations for patients and their adult family members or caregivers. In addition to physical housing, the House will offer hospitality, compassion and hope to support a healing journey for the patient and family. The support will be provided by a small core staff, many volunteers and through interaction between other families facing similar challenges. Join us in making this home a reality.
The Bartch Transplant House will be designed to offer both private and community spaces. The facilities will foster and support independence by providing shared kitchen, dining, and laundry facilities. Each guest will have a private room but may share a number of common areas where they can interact with the other guests. The common areas will allow families to join together and build bonds as they work through this challenging time, building support through one another. The Transplant House will enable Florida Hospital to continue to provide quality care throughout the entire transplant process, allowing patients and their families to have the best opportunity for a successful long term outcome.
Thank you to all who are supporting us in our journey. Without your generosity, this building project would not be possible. The total anticipated cost will require a minimum of $5 Million in philanthropy. Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated. Please join us in making this home a reality for transplant patients and their family members.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Florida finds, creates, and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.
Our cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House®, provides a home away from home for families with children receiving treatment at hospitals and medical facilities in Orlando. Before the Ronald McDonald Houses, parents were sleeping in their cars or in chairs in the waiting room, eating out of vending machines, or bearing the expense of impersonal hotel rooms.
There are two Ronald McDonald Houses in Orlando-- one on the campus of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and one on the campus of Florida Hospital for Children. Each year, about 1,700 families stay with us to be close to their critically ill children.
